The Million Triumph of The Modern Era.
In a press release from Triumph this month, we learned that the company will celebrate its 120th Anniversary with the landmark millionth Kinckley Triumph produced. This marks an impressive milestone for any motorcycle manufacturer but is especially significant for Triumph to tout one million units since the iconic brand’s return in 1990. “With its sophisticated custom silver-paint scheme and one-millionth graphics, this very special milestone motorcycle will be displayed in Triumph’s stand at this year’s Motorcycle Live Show at the NEC and then on show in Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience* in a new, specially created 120-year anniversary display.” The first production Triumph motorcycle was offered to the general public in April of 1902 and has constantly rewritten the direction of the motorcycle industry. They continued over their years to push other manufacturers to make motorcycles lighter, faster, smaller, more inexpensive, and perform better. No matter what the standard of the time, it seemed as if Triumph was ready to challenge it in one form or another. From what they are promising in the new year, that trend appears to be poised to continue on the same trajectory. *The Triumph Factory Visitor Experience is free to visit. It is located at Triumph’s HQ in Hinckley, England, and is open daily Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. For more information, visit www.triumphmotorcycles.com
